Benefits of listening to music
Music has been shown in studies to improve both mental and physical health. Music, for example, can boost our IQs and keep our minds sharper as we age. It can also help with stress and depression (Taylor, 2017). Listening to soft music can even cause people to eat less and study more effectively (Waters, 2022).
Music in writing
In real life, complete silence can be distracting or eerie. And there are usually some sounds around people. As a result, listening to soothing music in the background while writing can help people focus entirely on the task at hand. Music can improve mood, which can lead to an increase in creative capacity. Song lyrics can spark new ideas. Music is a source of entertainment that can help you stay focused while writing (Pandey, 2021).
The downsides
If a person listens to music at a high volume for extended periods of time or plays loud instruments without ear protection, he or she is likely to develop hearing loss. While some types of music, such as classical or nature, can help people focus, loud and extreme music can be distracting. Music does not appeal to everyone. Some people may avoid music because they are sensitive to loud sounds or are afraid of certain genres (Clark, 2020).
Conclusion
Music can help with writing in a variety of ways: it can reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood, and boost imagination when working on a creative project. The type of music, however, has an effect on the efficiency of the activity. Because music has different effects on people, you should do what works best for you because there is no one-size-fits-all solution for every person.
