The history of Movie

What is the universal language that penetrates the world and enables us to communicate with the people around us, or with anyone in the world, with the fastest and most influential means? It’s a movie. A movie is “comprehensive art that uses the principle of photography to project images recorded on film onto a screen and deliver them to the audience.” Some of the different types or genres of films are: feature films, documentaries, shorts, feature films, black-and-white films, color films, Hollywood films, European films, Korean films, and many more.

In what time period were movies invented?

Thousands of silent movies were released between 1890 and 1927. So, many consider that time period to be the birth period of movies. Eventually, storylines got better and so did technical craft. It was the invention of the motion picture camera that led to the creation of movies. Like a flipbook, pictures taken in a row were shown in sequence, and there was a gramophone on top, so music played along with it. As if we were watching a movie in a movie theater, when we put our eyes on the viewfinder, music is played, and we can see moving images. Do you know who invented this device?

He is a very famous scientist. It’s no other than Thomas Edison, who developed both the phonograph and motion picture, this device is very close to the film screening that we saw for the first time, wherein we see moving images with sound.

What was the first movie?

The first movie was “Arrival of a train at La Ciotat.” It was shot in 1895 but was not released for public viewing until January 1896. This first film was made by the Lumière brothers, who gathered people in a French cafe and screened the said movie. That setup or format would be very comparable to the modern movie theaters of today. The movie showed a scene of a train coming into the station, but the story goes that the very first audience members who saw it for the first time thought that it was a real train coming in through the screen, so they screamed and ran out of the theater to pray.

Is film an art or an industry?

In the film industry, many people complete the work of film with their own efforts. Some of these people are the director, actors, camera directors, costume designers, lighting personnel, assistant performers, audio directors, audio technicians, distributors, and a lot more.

People from each of the above areas work together to complete one film. If one or two are missing from the process necessary for film production, the film may not be completed, and even if it is, it may not be possible to create a film-like work. So, is film an art or an industry? The answer is that film is both. Together, people from the different areas of film build the film industry, and it is comprehensive art because it is created by participating in many fields.

Conclusion

Although cinema has a very short history compared to other arts, it is considered the world’s most loved art, and this powerful medium has established itself at the center of culture at the intersection of art, industry, technology, and politics.
