How can text impact our lives?

We can see text and stories everywhere on a daily basis, for example, when browsing the internet, reading an article, or texting your friends for entertainment. Every experience you encounter serves its own purpose; therefore, these experiences you gain impacts your interpretation and understanding of a specific piece of information over a long-term condition. On that basis, you will be able to comprehend the deeper and complex meaning of an article or a story. So, why does understanding a diverse idea even matter? By exploring text and stories, you unintentionally increase your knowledge about various things, such as things about ourselves, other people, and the world. These extra “helpers” are not only tools for academia but also useful techniques in reality.

Nowadays, the most commonly used resource is the internet. People can easily find specific articles using keywords. On the other hand, this so-called “reliable” source could also mislead and give incorrect information to a lot of people; positive and negative effects come easily when talking about the internet. In this case, when you have enough experience and knowledge, you will have the ability to identify whether the information is correct or not. Digging deep into official articles and understanding these complex ideas will definitely help your understanding of big ideas.

Concerning COVID-19, if you asked anyone on the streets what they struggled with, the answer would probably be COVID-19. Everyone has been a victim since the virus outbreak took place in early March of 2020, and this has impacted a significant amount of people all over the world. Since the outbreak, students and teachers have faced unprecedented difficulties, as teachers cannot deliver face-to-face lessons to their students. As an alternative, the online method has been utilized. Although the amounts of lessons delivered by the teachers are exactly the same as in school, some students, even teachers, have encountered some trouble and chaos due to technology and communication issues. In addition, online lessons hugely lessen the amount of information you obtain from a specific lesson. There is no doubt that online education impacts your understanding in exploring more diverse ideas found in texts, and this reveals that it is not an effective way to learn.

Overall, the exploration of text and stories deepens our understanding of diverse, complex concepts about different matters and forms part of the learning process. Online learning assignments, digital texts, and reading and learning platforms are especially helpful, and they can make a change in our thinking processes. It also allows us to recognize more in-depth ideas when reading texts and stories on different platforms.
