A crowd composed of family, friends, and colleagues gathered to witness and celebrate the accomplishments of 15 students of Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Communication and 16 students of Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages-Teaching English to Children. The event was held on May 22, 2016 at Instituto Tecnico I.T. Luigi di Savoia Duca degli Abruzzi, Via Palestro 38, Rome, Italy. It was a picture-perfect day for the graduates to receive the fruit of their labor: their hard-earned diplomas.
The said graduation celebration was themed “Shifting to 21st Century Thinking in Education and Learning,” and it was led by Concordia International College (Concordia Europe) Vice President for Operations Don Harmel Tatel II, who is also the founder of PGEU, Pinoy Guru EU, and the event was hosted by PGEU teachers Ms. Maritess Miranda and Ms. Jaine Morales.
Generous enough to be the commencement speaker was Dr. Noli Sta. Isabel, who is an actor and fashion designer based in Rome. He and his message inspired the graduates to look at a very bright future, as he shared his story and life and how he was able to overcome challenges and achieve success in Italy. His speech was followed by a short but wonderful message from Jennifer Magpantay, one of the students who were given awards for their exemplary performance.
