– that’s  training or instruction –

but is rather making visible what is hidden as a seed.

Concordia Launches ESL Teacher training

Concordia International College Philippines recently conducted a 2-day intensive teacher training program for ESL teachers last March 19-20, 2012 at Tropicana Hotel Manila. This training is the first among the series of teacher-training programs to be conducted regularly for ESL and TESOL-TEC graduates.

Ms. Tess Aluyen, the resource speaker, discussed the di erent aspects of ESL (English as a Second Language), and how to properly teach ESL.

According to Ms. Aluyen, not everyone who can speak English has the skill to teach it. Hence, the teacher- training program was designed to specifically target the teachers of ESL.

The highlight of the training was the workshop that helped the teachers identify their areas of need and enhance their skills in delivery which is essential in addressing the deficits in the core competencies that need to be developed among non-native English speakers.
