Embassy of Belarus in Seoul holds a Christmas meeting

UNJournal Jon Lee | The Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Korea held an annual event with the participation of the Belarusian diaspora and foreign guests, dedicated to the celebration of Christmas at the embassy in Seoul on Jan. 5. 

The invited participants of the meeting were representatives of South Korean English–language media, including Diplomacy Journal, the Korea Herald, Korea Post,  cultural and business circles, including Little Angels and the International Conference on Foreigners Welfare, as well as Korean universities – Chungbuk National University and Kyungpook National University. 

During the official part of the evening, Andrew Chernetsky, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Korea, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech: Belarusian top-envoy stressed the importance of preserving the traditions and culture of the state. 

The participants of the meeting were shown a presentation on the theme “Peculiarities of celebrating Christmas in Belarus”, and a vocal performance by the Belarusian diaspora took place. 

The event was accompanied by a tasting of national cuisine. During the meeting, printed booklets with information about the tourist opportunities of the Republic of Belarus were distributed among foreign guests. 

At the end of the evening, the guests were presented with the calendar of events of the foreign institution for 2024. Special emphasis was placed on the events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus, the 105th anniversary of the Belarusian diplomatic service.
