Common cold and its impacts on our bodies

We sometimes catch a cold. The symptoms vary from person to person. Some people experience severe symptoms, while others get mild symptoms. In some cases, symptoms may persist for a long time. We can take many measures to prevent catching colds because there are many causes of common colds.

Cause of common cold

There are many different causes of catching a cold, and it depends on specific conditions.

Season

Cases of colds skyrocket when the temperature and humidity change drastically, such as in the autumn, the winter, and the rainy seasons.

Age

Children have a weaker immune system, so they are more susceptible to colds than adults are. Children under six years old especially need attention.

Environment

Infection is common in places where many people gather.

Smoking

Compared to non-smokers, smokers are more likely to catch colds and their colds may be more severe than the colds that non-smokers catch.

Lack of sleep

Lack of sleep weakens our immune system, making us more susceptible to illness.

Symptoms of colds

There are many types of cold symptoms, and they usually last seven-ten days. They are most severe around the fifth day.

Runny nose, stuffy nose, sneezing

Head

Headache, cough, sore throat

Whole body

Fatigue, chills, difficulty breathing

How to prevent and deal with cold

There is no vaccine for the common cold. There are several ways to prevent catching a cold.

Wash hands

Wash your hands with soap. It is even better to disinfect with alcohol.

Stay away from sick people

People with cold symptoms should not go to school or work. Also, avoid contact with sick people as much as possible, as people may be infected.

Don’t touch our face before washing our hands

Touching our eyes, nose, and mouth with dirty hands can spread the disease.

Method of treatment

Take medicines.

Have sufficient rest.

Hydrate.

Gargle (Gargling with salt water is effective).

Use a humidifier.

Conclusion

There are many types and causes of colds, and each person needs to take various measures to prevent catching them. A cold can infect other people, so be careful. If everyone has a strong awareness of colds and takes measures, many people will be able to live in good health.
