On August 30, 2022, CNC will conduct its fall Co-op Work Experience Orientation at the end of the term before the students could progress to their Co-op Work Experience. This orientation will will be facilitated by the School’s Co-op Coordinator. After the introductory session, students may individually request a private consultation with the Co-op Coordinator.
The Co-op Placement is an approved program by the Canadian government that allows students to expand their potential skills and explore public services. The Co-op program has contributed to British Columbia’s employment recruiting to place students in select host organizations. The students can benefit from a paid program that offers a vast array of hands-on practical work experiences and networks.
The orientation aims to prepare students for a real work setting outside of school. The session covers the following topics:
- Co-op work experience process
- Placement requirements
- School and student responsibilities
- Required submission
- Work experience evaluation
- Resume/cover letter workshop
- Work placement workshop
CNC encourages students to fully familiarize the placement process and understand the responsibilities to start the job-seeking stage. CNC fully supports all students to be placed in program-related roles by the host organization. Furthermore, CNC assures that every student has an opportunity to gain hands-on work experience in Canada through the Co-op work placements. With the implementation of this coming orientation, CNC students will build a relevant network that contributes to successful career paths.
