Every month, Cloud Nine College (CNC) rewards the winners of the MyON contest by giving away various prizes such as Starbucks or Tim Horton’s gift cards. The three winners are selected by the total high score calculated, including how many minutes read per day students have read and how many books were completed in months. In addition, Concordia International University (CIU) and CNC partnered with MyOn, the world’s leading digital reading platform, to provide students with access to thousands of online resources. Next month, a Flyover Canada ticket will be given to the contest’s first winner. Flyover Canada is one of the famous tourist spots in Vancouver, where the spectacular sceneries in the different provinces of Canada will be witnessed in 4D.
What does MyOn offer?
MyON is a platform that offers readers access to a collection of approximately 7,000 books. This platform enables users to read various picture books such as natural science, mathematics, and sports. Picture books can make reading easier for those who do not read consistently. Books can be chosen according to their English level and interests on their platform. Furthermore, audiobooks are available on almost every book they offer. The text is highlighted at the same speed as the audio, allowing students to learn English efficiently while simultaneously improving their listening and reading.
The MyOn reading program aims to help make reading a habit and prepare for top-up universities after students complete their studies at CNC. To improve the learner’s reading comprehension, CNC encourages students to read 20-30 pages daily on MyOn, with the goal of achieving a minimum of 3,000 books before graduating from CNC.
