Importance of electric automobiles in Korea

Nowadays, people worry a lot about the environment and are continuously developing eco-friendly technologies to protect the environment. Among these eco-friendly technologies, the most noteworthy thing is an electric car. Currently, Tesla is the main inventor and marketer of electric automobiles. This company has had a huge impact on our country as well. The electric vehicle is expected to become the next-generation innovative market power in the transportation and technology sector. It has the potential to revolutionize the use, generation, and direction of energy. Electric cars are a solution to the negative environmental impact of a conventional automobile. But it can also prove that there are more benefits to society. The advent of electric cars requires improvements in overall energy use and generation. It is important to find alternative fuels and have a positive impact on the environment and society. These effects will now be shown.

Electric vehicles show 75% efficiency in converting input energy into kinetic energy. On the other hand, the efficiency of a gas-powered vehicle equipped with an internal combustion engine is only 25%. Electric cars with fewer energy-transferring less energy conversion. The results are less energy loss compared to gas-powered engines. Also, electric cars brakes do not apply the same technology as gasoline automobile brakes. Regenerative braking allows the vehicle to charge its battery, which is very useful. The main reasons for the introduction of electric cars to the market are concerns about greenhouse gas emissions and global warming. The purpose of making electric automobiles help to reduce emissions of exhaust gas. Reducing carbon emissions must occur in urban areas where millions of people drive their cars. Air pollution reduction caused by electric automobiles promotes sustainable mobility and significantly reduces the negative impact of transport demands on the atmosphere. Also, converting all the electricity that fuels electric vehicles into fossil fuels is less polluting than gasoline automobiles. Electric cars are much cleaner and safer for the environment than conventional gasoline vehicles. Electric cars do not require drilling for oil. It also emits exhaust gases from the exhaust pipe and is very quiet. The biggest risk to the environment of gasoline cars is air pollution and ozone layer depletion from chemicals emitted. These chemicals seep into soil and water, and can adversely affect plants, wildlife, and humans. Metal parts of electric cars are not completely environmentally and must be disposed of consciously, but these parts do not cause environmental damage during the use of automobiles.

The widespread adoption of electric cars also has the potential to improve public health. The worst thing about an internal combustion engine is its exhaust. Exhaust gas also contains odors, dirt, and harmful gases. On the other hand, electric cars do not emit any harmful gases and are independent of the presence of gaseous chemicals in the air. Reduced air pollution from automobiles can improve air quality and health. From now on, we should focus on going 100% renewable energy and not just look at the present. If we look only at the present, there will be no innovation in the world.

History of Tesla

Tesla is founded in 2003 by American entrepreneurs Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning, it is named after Serbian American inventor Nikola Tesla. Tesla Motors was founded to develop electric sports cars. Eberhard was CEO of Tesla and Tarpenning was a chief financial officer. Funding for the company came from a variety of sources, notably PayPal co-founder Elon Musk. Musk has donated over $30 million to new ventures since 2004 and has served as the company’s president.

In 2008, Tesla Motors introduced its first car, the all-electric roadster. Achieved 245 miles on a single charge in company tests, which is unprecedented for a mass-produced electric vehicle. The roadster can accelerate from 96km/h in less than 4 seconds and reach a top speed of 200km/h. The lightweight body of this automobile is made of carbon fiber. There are no exhaust pipe emissions because the roadster does not use an internal combustion engine. Also, the vehicle’s electric motor was powered by a lithium-ion battery that could be charged from a standard electrical outlet.

In 2007, Eberhard retired as CEO and participated in the company’s advisory board. In 2008, he remained a shareholder, but it was announced that he had retired from the company. Tarpenning who oversaw software development, and was vice president of electrical engineering, also left the company in 2008.

In 2012, Tesla focused on the new Model S sedan, which was praised by car critics for its performance and design. Production of the Roadster was discontinued. It came with three different battery options to give people the expected range. The option of ultimate operation capability battery accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just over 4 seconds. It offers a top speed of at130 miles per hour. Unlike roadsters, which have batteries in the front of the vehicle, Model S has batteries under the floor for extra storage space in the front. It has a lower center of gravity to improve handling. Tesla Autopilot which is a form of semi-autonomous driving became available in the Model S in 2014. Since 2012, Tesla has built Superchargers stations designed to quickly charge batteries at no additional cost to Tesla owners in the US and Europe.

In 2015, Tesla introduced the Model X, a “crossover” vehicle. Model X has a battery range of up to 295 miles and can seat up to seven people. Due to demand for a cheaper vehicle, model 3, a four-door sedan with a mileage of 354 km, started production in 2017. This company also expanded its business into solar energy products. A line of batteries that store power from solar energy for use in homes and businesses was unveiled in 2015. Tesla has taken over SolarCitywhich is a solar panel company. In 2017, the company name was changed to Tesla, Inc. to reflect that Tesla no longer only sells cars.

In modern times, concerns about the environment continue to rise. In this era, eco-friendly products and resources must be continuously developed. Among these eco-friendly developments, electric vehicles are attracting the most attention. Since many companies are currently working on the development of electric cars, people should be aware of it and try to use them. Moreover, the government should try to popularize these electric automobiles so that people can use them without burden. We will be able to grow and reduce the burden on the environment through electric cars.
