What is the Myon reading program?
Myon reading program is an online platform library that provides an accessible, personalized learning environment, primarily for English as second language students (ESL) with various levels and interests. At the same time, it is programmed to keep track of reading records in each category, making daily reading even more appealing and hence encouraging for students to grow a habit of reading.
Once completed, the students can enhance their understanding of a book by taking the comprehension quiz, allowing them to build up English vocabulary by easily clicking the terms and utilizing the audiobook option while reading. This program is a vital source for those international students who are willing to learn about other cultures and gain knowledge through this daily reading program; moreover, they can assign various books from more than 6,000 enhanced digital books. It is an efficient tool for levelling up their study goal.
Concordia International University (“CIU”) and Cloud Nine College (“CNC”) are hosting the Myon Reading Contest to honour students for their achievement and contribution every month.
During the first month in January 2022, a total of 45 students have participated and encouraged each other with the overall score (numbers of books, pages, minutes read etc.) On February 15th, 2022, three honoured students were announced as Top 3 hardworking winners and rewarded with rewards.
At both CIU and CNC, the Myon reading program is an integral element as a day-to-day task for the students, as the students are required to read 3000 books within a year of study duration.
Reading can enhance students language skills and the daily task is to prepare themselves for the second year top-up by overcoming any weakness and forming reading habits which will be crucial once students progress to the UK university.
