On October 21 to 23, 2016, Concordia International University was at Hall 4 of SMX Convention Center Manila to participate in the very first Expo for Higher Education in the Philippines, which was a project of WorldEXCO (World Expos & Concepts, Inc.).
More than 35 schools offering different specialties took part in the event. The specialties included medical and nursing, culinary, hospitality management, marketing, creative arts, aviation & maritime, computer/IT, and vocational & technical. Everyone had their own gimmicks such as live demos, discount and scholarship offers, mascots, promos, tons of amazing giveaways, dance and musical performances, you name it, the expo had it. There were also various presentations regarding topics like personal branding, scholarships, study options, educational revolution, and study abroad opportunities.
For it was the first expo for higher education, thousands of people – which were students, parents, and teachers from Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, and even some parts of Visayas and Mindanao – came to the SMX Convention Center and took part in the event to jump start their senior high school or college search. There, the people were able to ask about courses, tuition fees, scholarship opportunities, and other things related to making the right choice for finding the right institution, which was indeed the main purpose of the event: to provide a one-stop venue for dozens of options for tertiary education.
Concordia International University drew a lot of attention from the attendees for its full-online and part-online programs, which are still in the process of becoming popular nowadays in the Philippines. A whole lot of visitors filled in registration forms, as they were pretty interested in our university’s methods of study, which are quite modern and time and travel friendly.
Overall, it was a busy but fun-filled and productive weekend event for the participating institutions and the school hunters themselves. And we have made just another step forward towards getting more recognition from people from different parts of the Philippines. There’ll be more of these events in the future, and you can expect Concordia International University to be there.
