The experiences I gained from my long high school journey have undoubtedly become one of the greatest treasures that I will cherish over my lifetime. Within those years, several academic difficulties impeded me from going forward, but the spirit of perseverance within my body took over and brought me courage, and the outstanding results I got proved that my labor was not wasted. I should really be proud of myself. I believe that any course would be more challenging than others if you showed no interest in it. It happened to me directly during my high school academic learning. Mathematics was just my thing; I felt that it was extremely worth putting time into learning math when I was in high school. I like to work things out step by step to keep my process in line with the scientific method and connect it to my analysis by doing experiments. Theories are a less preferable method for me, as I do not know the actual steps behind them. With only theories, it would be harder for me to understand concepts.
The most impactful issue that has been occurring around the world for more than a year now is the pandemic. I am really concerned about this situation, and I always keep an eye on the news for any latest updates. Personally, I feel that the pandemic has made significant impacts on all people, especially on students all over the globe. This is a fact because a lot of our learning now is done on an online platform instead of being physically present in school. As technology is used as the main communication tool, the engagement level of most students has decreased, and so has their learning efficiency. I truly wish that the pandemic would end as soon as possible so that we could return to our normal routines.
With that said, reflective thinking skill is one of the skills that I have gradually developed over the recent years. It is an essential skill to master because it provides you with the opportunity to always look back to the past and analyze it to see what can be done better in the future. I would like to further improve on this skill with the help of my mentors.
My innocent past once thought that the highest-paying job would be best suited for me; however, it is no longer true for me. Right now, I believe that I will not be able to do well in a field that I’m not interested in, even though there’s the motivation of a high salary. I look forward to a life full of colour, not a life with only grayness. The areas of work that I think best suit me now include Science, Accounting, and Business.
