Concordia International University in Partnership with Jeju International University
Concordia International University in Seoul, Korea Campus and Jeju International University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) last February 26, 2015 in a ceremony held in Seoul. The signing of the MOU was done by the high officials of both Universities, Sunsik Kim, President of Concordia International University SOL Language Institute and Koh Choong-sok, President of Jeju International University.
The two educational institutions will collaborate to introduce a globalized English language courses to students from around the world. These courses include intensive English, Business English, TESOL and TOEFL exams. TESOL stands for Teaching English as Speakers to other Languages. This course aims to train students on innovative approaches to teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) or English as a Foreign Language (EFL). There is demand of TESOL nowadays because many people wants to English language both for academic and professional use. TESOL is widely used in teaching ESL/EFL in the grade school, secondary and tertiary levels, both in Korea and abroad.
“Our goal is building confidence in communication with the use of the English language to non-English speaking international students. Students are daily exposed to different types of classes. There is a need to adjust for a better level in communication skills and need for each student to focus on TOEFL and TOEIC.”, Kim said.
