In line with the advocacy of JCI Manileña to promote equal access to education, the Chapter introduced the Road to Success: Pabaon Higher Education Program last July 2014. The Pabaon Higher Education Program is an expansion of the existing “Pabaon Program” of JCI Manileña. The initial Pabaon Program focused on providing financial assistance and mentorship to deserving high school students. Meanwhile, the Pabaon Higher Education Program opens up an opportunity for our chosen scholars to enroll in a college course with our partner school, Concordia College of Benguet, Inc. (CCB).
CCB is a recognized higher education institution by CHED. The school is affiliated with Concordia International College in Canada. During its first year of operation, CCB offered 30 slots of full scholarship and 30 slots of partial scholarships. The ROAD TO SUCCESS: Pabaon Higher Education Program aims to help out-of-school youths to continue their education and pursue their dreams by earning a College degree. JCI Manileña sponsored two scholars for 2014: Jerry Dela Cruz from Happyland Tondo, Manila; and Angel Buenavista from Baguio. Both students are enjoying full scholarships from CCBI, thanks to the full support of our international sister Chapter JCI Moriguchi Kadoma. |
