CONCORDIA COLLEGE OF BENGUET REACHING OUTSeptember 25 was indeed a beautiful day. A day we will reach out and serve another purpose in our lives. Being part of academe is not always putting up with lectures, assignments and examinations. It’s not just acquiring knowledge and skills. In Concordia College of Benguet, however, we give back; we make big room for sharing what we have and giving what we have in excess. Today is that particular day. On Thursday morning, Concordia College of Benguet Scholars together with their instructors and Staff, went to two facilities namely Longlong Daycare Center and Lamtang Elementary school. The two schools were the recipient of the vitamins and snacks prepared specifically by Concordia College of Benguet people. The first beneficiary was the Longlong Daycare Center, wherein we were warmly welcomed by the Daycare teacher Ms. Virginia Bayote, the PTA President Mrs. Myla Delin Gaiwen and 28 wonderful daycare students. We served snacks for the children, gave them vitamins, interact and play with them. After our enriching interaction with the kids, we bid farewell and went out for our next venue, the Lamtang Elementary school. We had the same heart-warming experience in the said institution. We were welcomed with open arms by teacher Mary Grace Alsaen and Lamtang Elementary School President Mr. Edgar Vicente. We were able to meet 16 amazing daycare students, provide them with a small snacks and vitamins to keep their growing bodies healthy and alert. The morning seemed to move so fast that we need to cut short our activity. It must have been a half-day event; it must have been us giving what we have. However, as we try to contemplate the event that we had that day, it seemed that those kids, whom you can see genuine smiles on their faces, their thoughts and actions, it made a big part in our hearts. It’s like we were the ones benefitted from that day’s program. Those kids made us realize what life is and what we should be thankful for in our lives. Thus, we were genuinely happy to be able to conduct such activity, and that, it surely will never be the last.
