Jim Rogers Participates in “Salvation Star Main Gate Photo Exhibition”

 – The photo exhibition of General Jeong Mun-bu was successfully held in the central hall on the 3rd floor of the Assembly Hall.

 – Jim Rogers: “I want to become a hero who saves the country and people like General Jeong Munbu. Please call me General Rogers of 15th-century Joseon.”

A photo exhibition of the Bukgwan Battle Monument, hosted by the National Movement for the Battle of Bukgwan and the Haejujeong clan’s relatives and organized by Culture Uijeongseok, was held at the National Assembly Hall. On the 25th, the exhibition hall on the 3rd floor of the Assembly Hall, which had been sparsely populated, was filled with a large crowd. Jim Rogers, one of the world’s top three investors, attended the exhibition. Jim Rogers looked around the photo exhibition and said, “I respect General Jeong Mun-bu. I also want to become a hero like General Rogers.” He added, “I want to go on a new adventure with General Jeong Mun-bu.” The organizer’s chairperson, John-Young Lee, said, “Be a general in the 21st century and convey the will of the general to the world.”

The wartime exhibition is a storytelling of the 420-year history of the Battle of Bukgwan, where General Jeong Mun-bu was active during the Imjin War in 1592, and the Monument to the Battle of Bukgwan, which was looted by the Japanese and returned to their hometown after 100 years. Unlike the previous National Assembly exhibition, the audience’s enthusiasm continued in the photo exhibition, which contained both historical and artistic qualities. In addition, the two-meter high Yasukuni North Hall Battle Monument installed in the exhibition hall aroused a profound impression on the audience. This is because he suffered a ton of stone at Yasukuni Shrine for 100 years for inflicting a disgraceful defeat on Japanese hero Kiyomasa Kato. At that time, when a Japanese illustrator touched the stone monument to make a top copy, he heard a moan, and his hand became so hot as if it were on fire that he missed the paper.

Jeong Mun-bu is regarded as the best commander in land warfare, killing about 10,000 Japanese soldiers in the Battle of Bukgwan. In North Korea, along with Admiral Yi Sun-sin, he is also mentioned as the second great commander of the Imjin War. He was the only bureaucrat to become a sergeant major by the people during the Imjin War and is the protagonist of the tragedy, in which he was tortured and killed after having been falsely accused as a traitor.

Gi-seung Ki-seung, chairman of the Haeju-jeong clan, visited the exhibition hall and said that he hoped that the spirit of General Jeong Mun-bu and the national soul of the country would be widely known to the public through this exhibition. Yoo Jung-hwa, the head of the organizer and the author of the novel ‘The Star of Salvation, Jeong Mun-bu,’ said, “Starting with the National Assembly exhibition, we plan to tour the whole country by 2024, the 400th anniversary of the death of General Jeong Mun-bu.”

Chairman Jim Rogers said that when he heard from the organizers about General Jeong Mun-bu and the monument to the battle, he decided to attend the exhibition. He said, “I am confident that it will be the starting point of restoration.”

Chairman Lee Jon Young of the World Peace Art Exhibition met Jim Rogers, and they participated in the event together. Lee Jon Young is the president of Concordia International College of Asia and the Pacific, and he is promoting global education.
